GoPro Signs on as Official Camera Sponsor of the 30th Annual Vans Triple Crown of Surfing

NORTH SHORE, OAHU, HI. (December 4, 2012) – GoPro, maker of the world’s most versatile cameras and producer of some of today’s most engaging surf content, is stoked to be the official camera sponsor of the 30th Annual Vans Triple Crown of Surfing (VTC), the world’s premier series of professional surfing events, November 12, 2012 – December 20, 2012 hosted on Oahu’s North Shore. GoPro will cover all the action happening this winter in Hawaii by integrating killer content into the VTC live webcast, joining the surf community in Talk Story and Surfer Poll Awards, as well as celebrating with Kelly Slater at Clark Little’s Gallery Event in Haleiwa.

Vans Triple Crown PR guru and Talk Story host, Jodi Wilmott, will interview North Shore natives, Kalani Chapman and Kalani Robb, along with GoPro Creative Director of media production, Bradford Schmidt, in an effort to reveal the story of GoPro and its roots in surfing. Come by The Surfer Bar at Turtle Bay Resort, December 5, 2012 to join in on the conversation.

GoPro is also a proud sponsor of the Surfer Poll Awards, hosted by The Turtle Bay Resort, December 6, 2012. GoPro will recognize one of its standout content producers, awarding him or her, with the first ever GoPro Award for surf oriented content, presented by Kelly Slater.

On December 8th, Clark Little’s 2nd Anniversary Party will be displaying eight to ten of Kelly Slater’s most epic GoPro shots, signed and wrapped on canvas. The Kelly Slater photo exhibition will be showcased on Clark Little’s front exhibition wall. All proceeds will go to Kelly’s charity of choice, Waves for Water. Cruise by and check out the fun from 5:30-8:30pm.

GoPro will be hosting a Media Shack out at its Rocky Point house where you can meet GoPro’s talented production team, watch the latest GoPro footage from the North Shore and discover the best ways to share your own content. Media Shack nights will be hosted on Dec 9th and Dec 18th.
